A Reason to Pray

You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you. // 2 Chronicles 20:6

Prayer is often talked about by people of all walks of life. Prayer is considered a good thing and most people wish they prayed more or were better at praying.

One thing I see forgotten in the discussion though is a reason to pray.

In Jehoshaphat’s prayer in 2 Chronicles he gives us a great reason to pray.

Our God that we call upon in prayer is the God who rules over all kingdoms, has all the power, has all the might, and cannot be defeated.

We pray because it leads us to trust in, depend on, and connect to the God who is in control of everything and has the power and might to overcome anything.

We pray not because of who we are, but because of who God is.
